Be thankful..

ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.
From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
"The world over -- 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,
500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,
when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?' "

Moral : Be thankful to GOD to whatever HE has given you and choosen you for.

Never ever, kita mendongak bangga, sombong dan bongkak, being a Muslim makes you think that you are redeemed and the non-Muslims are to be dismissed totally. There are still things we can learn from them who don't share our beliefs. (This is the penyakit with many men, whom i have witnessed, men you are married, pandang org lain sebelah mata, mcm depa la paling bagus, but at any given chance, they are in fact, potential rapists.)

Still annoyed.

Rafidah Aziz is no longer in the Cabinet (the not so wise man was just using her to win the seats). Now she remains just the Ketua Wanita UMNO. And now, no more fun for Azalina to challenge her. I'm glad she dropped it.

Now, SHAHRIZAT.. that is the situation suitable for what we called, 'manis'. Learn something, will yah. I'm glad you lost. Takdak la dok mendongak sangat dah kut. By, now, ada manis ka, to your definition, bila you pangkat menteri and ketua you bukan menteri dah? Huh. I bet you have got to convince yourself to a new definition in defense for your current position beside your ketua.

Currently, I'm..

..reading 5 books at a time..

1. Honk! If you're Malaysian - Lydia Teh
2. I am Islam - Dina Zaman
3. Dr Mahathir's Selected Letter's to World Leaders - himself
4. Exit To Eden - Anne Rice
5. Law of Attraction - Michael J. Losier

Well, actually, i have just finished book no.1. I strongly recommend this book. Ich liebe es. I like the fact that the writer is able not to keep an idle mind all this time being a full time homemaker. she hardly talked about her kids, but she surely has a lot to share even with us, single ones. I thoroughly enjoyed her stories. looking forward to reading other books from Lydia Teh.

As for the rest of the books, I am in the midst of reading them all. Truth is, I am just being a typical gemini. I am able to get excited about a lot of things, I am restless. I don't have mood swings but my thoughts and moods change a number of times in a day. With having to go to work 8am-5pm (varies between 8am-6pm actually, or 9am-7pm), I feel like there is not enough hours, minutes..for me to do my stuffs in a day. My dad used to give me a plaque with a poem about, 'Taking Your Step One At A Time...tomorrow is another day..' Unfortunately, dad, my thoughts swing so many times in a day, it is hard for me to settle with one thing at a time. I may have to be at work, but my mind wants something else..

Seriously, it's pretty tiring..and as much as how i wished i don't have the need for the love of too much sleeping, that's as much as how much i need my precious sleeping time, but having only 6hrs of sleep on weekdays is costing me dearly on my personal time, my body is retiring at 10pm every night! it's quite hard to focus to what I want passing that curfew. I usually go to bed feeling somewhat unaccomplished. No, no, i will not let prozac slow my mind down. I need something that would keep my body energetic to do all these stuffs. I once heard Mahathir only needed 4 hours of sleep in a day (is that an exaggeration?).

Here's how the books are filling my mood swings..

1. Honk! If you're Malaysian - light and easy. fun. relax. happy. sharing. disturb me and i will share you the stories. bedtime stories.
2. I am Islam - serious. heavy. gets my mind running. definitely not a bedtime storybook. daytime..after breakfast in the morning or after lunch.
3. Dr Mahathir's Selected Letter's to World Leaders - amaze, awe, inspiring, no disturbance please. no worries coz i will only read this book when i am totally alone, so no specific time.
4. Exit To Eden - just to satisfy my curiosity. once in a while, i will need a material that brings me to a new and different encounter.
5. Law of Attraction - this is an extension of a new encounter which i have read before.

Aside from reading alone, I may have the mood to watch a movie on dvd or in the cinema.. window shopping..socializing..spending time with significant people..sports..preparing dinner...darn it, i haven't done the laundry..vacuum the whole house..thanks to my sis for keeping me updated with the latest tunes on the radio. I can't keep up with my own self.

Gol & Gincu

i, criticize malay movies, a lot. i'm sick of the story lines..the extras who can't act..the directors who don't pay attention to small details or even details. or maybe, the directors or actors who just don't have the touch.

but for this movie, just look at the cover on top, that would be enough to make me go see it in the first place. as they say, a picture says a thousand words. tho' ironically, i can't find any exact words by just looking at the picture, but it is definitely different from other movies ads. it's just different and it's kewl. it's simple but it's potraying what the movie is all about, the focus on the leading actress..her character and her quest. the best thing is, it is not selling the faces of the main characters from the movie in the picture-ad. that's the biGGest point to me. it's just meaningfully, simple. catchy. me likey.

'Nuff said about the picture advertisement. now, about the movie..farah has been trying to make me watch the movie since 2005, coz she likes it so much. it took me three years to do so, since well..i just can't buy another malay movie with some young pretty faces on board. but oh, how i was proven wrong. i watched it last few days, and i hardly commented on the movie. it's a light movie, yes..not for award type, so i set my moods accordingly as i do with sex and the city. i love the movie immediately. i caught myself thinking, FINALLY! we have this standard for contemporary local movies. Damn, i'm lovin this. (note : even the extras playing doctors are really acting, imagine the rest!)

So, for the past few days, i've been looking forward to Gol&Gincu the series on 8tv and internet. Just tonight, i watched the last episode online. I felt, man, i will but the original dvd/vcd version of the series. I mean, they have real issues to deal with. No non-sense. and especially, their english tak menyakitkan telinga. i really recommend the movie and the series. It's worth it. They are not just potraying some pretty faces, these kids take their actings seriously and i can buy the expression on their faces and gestures. Superb.

Kudos to Bernard Chauly, all the characters and Rafidah (and the rest) for the stories. It's a good work. I hope we'll be seeing more products and output from these people.

(i don't wish to see the leading couple again in a different movie/series. Better not do this. Jgn jadi mcm cerita hindustan. Buat cerita lain, ambik aktor lain2. just becoz the movie is good, u guys nak sell the same couple in other movies. C'mon, bosan lah. lama2 mual. the actor and actresses pun tak berkembang)

Thanks much to Farah for introducing me to this movie. U know how much i appreciate good stuffs with quality ;)
